Tornado Watch Canceled For A Few More Counties; Some Damage Reports

NWS Birmingham has canceled the TORNADO WATCH for Bibb, Chilton, Clay, Dallas, Hale, Marengo, Perry counties as the threat for severe storms have come to an end at this time.

The TORNADO WATCH continues for Autauga, Bullock, Chambers, Coosa, Elmore, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Montgomery, Randolph, Russell, and Tallapoosa counties until 11:00 am this morning.


We have received some damage reports and a few images in from the “Spann Twitter Army.”

Local Storm Report by NWS BMX: 1 SW Greensboro [Hale Co, AL] emergency mngr reports TSTM WND DMG at 07:10 AM CST — multiple trees down and homes damaged near the intersection of hwy 69 and hwy 25. time estimated from radar.

Multiple houses in Greensboro were damaged and a few others were destroyed on Highway 69 near the intersection of Highway 25. Another house was destroyed on Cashew Road. Hale County EMA Director says that the damage path was 4 miles long.

Local Storm Report by NWS BMX: 2 WSW Talladega Nationa [Bibb Co, AL] emergency mngr reports TSTM WND DMG at 06:30 AM CST — trees down on homes in the 500 block of maude tower rd. possible tornado.
