A Comfortable July Morning

Well, it is not earth-shaking news. No Cold Wave Warning or anything like that. But it was cool across much of Alabama again this morning. Not so much so as recent cool air visits.

Nevertheless, we never ignore an excuse to throw a street party to celebrate good weather. So, we look at some low temperatures this morning.

The low of 63 at Tuscaloosa Airport this morning tied the record low for July 24.

GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK
On Mt. LeConte at an elevation of 6,400 feet, the high yesterday was only 61 and the low this morning a chilly 36. That is amazing for the middle of summer. That is cold enough for even some scattered light frost. That is also the second time within a week that their temperature has been as low as the mid 30s. In fact, it was 33 Wednesday morning!
