Strong Storms Affecting Southern Parts Of The Area From Sumter County to Lee County

| April 19, 2020 @ 5:38 pm

As of 5:30 pm, a line of stronger to severe storms are affecting multiple counties in the southern part of the area. Sumter, Greene, Hale, Marengo, Dallas, Chilton, Autauga, Coosa, Elmore, Tallapoosa, Lee, and Chambers counties can expect heavy rainfall, frequent lightning, gusty winds up to and exceeding 40 MPH, and some small hail is possible.

This line is riding along and just north of the warm front and these storms should stay elevated, but an isolated severe storm or two may be possible.

We continue to watch south of the warm front for any supercell development, but for now, everything remains rather quiet.
