Strong Storms Affecting Autauga, Chilton, Shelby, Bibb, & Jefferson Co.

…SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR NORTHWESTERN AUTAUGA…CHILTON…
WESTERN SHELBY…EASTERN BIBB AND SOUTHERN JEFFERSON COUNTIES UNTIL
345 PM CDT…

At 237 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Oak Grove to near Parnell. Movement was east at
25 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include…
Birmingham, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Alabaster, Bessemer, Homewood,
Pelham, Mountain Brook, Helena, Hueytown, Gardendale, Irondale,
Calera, Fairfield, Chelsea, Clanton, Fultondale, Montevallo,
Columbiana and Jemison.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
