CANCELED: Flood Advisory for Calhoun, St. Clair, Shelby, Talladega Co. Until 5:15 pm

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flood Advisory for…
Southern St. Clair County in central Alabama…
Northeastern Shelby County in central Alabama…
Southwestern Calhoun County in east central Alabama…
Northern Talladega County in east central Alabama…

* Until 515 PM CDT.

* At 314 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain
are possible in a very short period of time.

Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Pell City, Moody, Chelsea, Lincoln, Riverside, Vincent, Ragland,
Harpersville, Westover, Logan Martin Lake, Coosa Island,
Harrisburg, Alpine Bay Resort, Logan Martin Dam, Bald Rock,
Branchville, Honda Manufacturing Of Alabama, Talladega
Superspeedway, Talladega Municipal Airport and Bynum.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
