Great Weekend Weather

| June 13, 2020 @ 11:56 am

Pretty cut and dry forecast for Alabama this weekend; drier air remains in place so we continue to enjoy the somewhat comfortable air mass in place. The sky remains full of sunshine, and temperatures are very warm to hot this afternoon with upper 80s and lower 90s, but again, the lower humidity levels make it tolerable.

It remains a dry day across the state, with the exception of the possibility of a few stray showers across South Alabama. Tonight, will be clear and mild with lows in the mid 60s. Then, tomorrow will feature a good supply of sunshine, and highs in the upper 80s, with a rogue shower or two across the Alabama landscape during the afternoon, mainly across East Alabama.

THE WEEK AHEAD: No real change in the pattern for next week, as an unusually dry airmass for June will remain parked over Alabama, meaning sunny warm days and fair pleasant nights next week. Highs will remain mostly in the 80s, and lows in the 60s, but cooler spots will see lows in the 50s through Wednesday. Humidity levels will slowly rise Thursday and Friday, but for now, the chance of rain seems too low to mention in the forecast.

IN THE TROPICS: Tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 5 days over the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, and the Gulf of Mexico.
