Strong Storm Affecting Parts of Randolph County with Gusty Winds

Heads up in the southern and south-central parts of Randolph County as a strong thunderstorm is moving slowly to the south. Take cover until the storm has passed.

UNTIL 400 PM CDT…

At 326 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Lake Wedowee, moving south at 10 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include…
Wedowee, Lake Wedowee, Wadley, Malone, Dickert, R.L. Harris Dam and
Ofelia.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
