Alabama Update at 3:45 p.m.

| June 24, 2020 @ 3:53 pm

Rain and storms continue across much of Alabama this afternoon.

Our southern complex of storms extends from west of Camden to Evergreen to Brewton and onto west of Pensacola. There are a couple of severe thunderstorm warnings in South Alabama for this line.

The storms moving into Dallas County will produce wind gusts to 40 mph.

The northern complex is weak and diffuse now, having lost much of its instability. Rain and occasional lightning extend from Pickens County across northern Tuscaloosa into Jefferson, Shelby, Tallladega, Coosa, Tallapoosa, Chilton, and Elmore Counties. The rain is not especially heavy and the storms are nowhere near severe.

Over North Alabama, it’s still raining in Marion County over into Winston County, with heavy showers lined up along US-278 from Cullman to Gadsden.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for South Alabama
