Flood Warning for Parts of Colbert, Franklin, Lawrence Co. Until 11:45 am

The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a

* Flood Warning for…
South Central Colbert County in northwestern Alabama…
Franklin AL County in northwestern Alabama…
Southwestern Lawrence County in northwestern Alabama…

* Until 1145 AM CDT.

* At 852 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in
the warned area. Between 4 and 7 inches of rain have fallen.

Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Russellville, Moulton, Red Bay, Phil Campbell, Littleville,
Belgreen, Vina, Hodges, Isbell, Spruce Pine, Rockwood, Tharptown,
Duketon, Newburg, Cedar Creek Reservoir, Little Bear Creek
Reservoir, Dempsey, Mt Hope, Atwood and Landersville.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
