After opening its season with a home victory over Football Championship Subdivision Central Arkansas, the UAB Blazers take a major step up in class as they face “The U” – the Miami Hurricanes – at 7 p.m. Thursday on the ACC Network.

“Every game is important,” coach Bill Clark said. “Every game is big. Obviously, the name recognition is a big deal.”

The Blazers coach said during his weekly press conference that his team isn’t heading to Hard Rock Stadium for a leisurely vacation or even to collect a paycheck for an automatic loss.
