While our eyes are Sally in the Gulf of Mexico, the tropics are very active.

TROPICAL DEPRESSION 20
Tropical Depression 20 just formed in the Atlantic about 2000 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands. It will become a tropical storm by tomorrow and be named Teddy. It is forecast to become a hurricane by Tuesday but should recurve to the northwest and stay well east of the islands.

TROPICAL DEPRESSION RENE
Rene is about 1200 miles east northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands with top winds of 35 mph. It is moving northwestward with little change in strength. It is expected to weaken over cooler water and dissipate over the next 5 days, staying well away from land.

TROPICAL STORM PAULETTE
Paulette is expected to become a hurricane tonight and will pass near Bermuda early Monday. Conditions will begin to deteriorate there late Sunday.
