…SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SOUTHWESTERN JEFFERSON COUNTY
UNTIL 430 PM CDT…

At 406 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
North Johns, or near Hueytown, moving east at 30 mph.

Wind gusts around 40 mph will be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include…
Southwestern Birmingham, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Bessemer, Homewood,
Hueytown, Fairfield, Pleasant Grove, Midfield, Brighton, Lipscomb,
North Johns, Splash Adventure, Concord, Hoover Metropolitan Stadium,
Ross Bridge, Bluff Park, Dolomite, Shannon and Lake Cyrus.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
