Midday Nowcast: Rain is Gradually Pushing East

| December 4, 2020 @ 11:38 am

A wet and a soggy start to our Friday, but the rain is gradually winding down and will continue to push east, out of the area through the afternoon.

We may even see some peeks of sunshine this afternoon, but it looks like the sky will really not start clearing until later tonight as drier air flows back into the state.

Temperatures this afternoon are ranging from the 40s to the northwest, in the 50s in Central Alabama, while 60s are common to the southeast; tonight they fall back into the low 30s for most of us, with frosty conditions expected.

WEEKEND WEATHER: We are forecasting dry and sunny conditions tomorrow with highs in the mid 50s. On Sunday, we will see more clouds and perhaps a few showers across the southern part of the state as weak disturbance moves along the Gulf Coast, but limited moisture means most of the state stays dry. Highs Sunday should be in the mid to upper 50s.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: FOOTBALL WEATHER: Tomorrow Auburn will host Texas A&M at Jordan-Hare Stadium (11:00a CT kickoff)… the sky will be mostly sunny with temperatures rising from near 52 at kickoff, to near 57 by the final whistle.

Then, tomorrow night Alabama will travel to Baton Rouge to take on LSU (7:00p CT kickoff); the sky will be clear with temperatures falling from 52 at kickoff, into the upper 40s by the fourth quarter. Perfect football weather for both venues.
