Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Portions of Colbert, Franklin, and Lawrence Counties Until 345 am

Storms have intensified in the past few minutes over parts of Lauderdale and Colbert Counties in Northwest Alabama and have now taken on a signature that is very indicative of damaging winds. In addition, a tornado watch is in effect for the area. The storm has a long history of rotation and is movin ginto an area where quick spin-up tornadoes are very favored.

The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Southeastern Colbert County in northwestern Alabama…
Eastern Franklin County in northwestern Alabama…
Western Lawrence County in northwestern Alabama…

* Until 345 AM CDT.

* At 308 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Russellville,
moving east at 60 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include…
Russellville, Moulton, Phil Campbell, Town Creek, Littleville,
Leighton, Courtland, Belgreen, North Courtland and Posey Loop.
