The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Northeastern Marengo County in southwestern Alabama…
Perry County in central Alabama…
Southeastern Hale County in west central Alabama…
South central Bibb County in central Alabama…
Western Dallas County in south central Alabama…

* Until 1115 PM CDT.

* At 807 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Marion, Uniontown, Orrville, Newbern, Faunsdale, Bogue Chitto,
Vaiden, Central Mills, Heiberger, Marion Junction, Perry County
Correctional Center, Judson College, Radford, Morgan Springs,
Safford, Folsom, Suttle, Oakmulgee, Sprott and Vaiden Field
Airport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
