Storms Producing Heavy Rain Over Portions of the Central & South-Central Parts of the Area

| June 7, 2021 @ 8:30 pm

As of 8:18 pm, not everyone is getting a shower or thunderstorm… but, the ones that are, it is raining hard enough to cause some flash flooding issues. Currently, portions of Bibb, Dallas, Hale, Marengo, Perry, Chilton, Jefferson, and Shelby counties are under Flash Flood Warnings until 11:15 pm tonight as storms are expected to produce another 1-2 inches of rain within the next hour. Also, portions of Etowah and St. Clair Counties are under Flood Advisories for heavy rain potential to add to the already impressive totals up to 2 inches.

Unfortunately, these cells are moving to the north-northeast and will continue to affect the same drenched areas for at least the next hour or two. Hopefully, the HRRR is correct as it has these cells dissipating by 10-11 pm. The good news is that severe weather is not expected.
