Severe Thunderstorm Watch Continues for Some Central Alabama Counties; Warning for Parts of Hale County

The NWS continues to clear counties from our severe thunderstorm watch. The following counties are still in the watch:

Greene, Hale, Marengo, and Sumter

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for parts of Hale County:

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
South central Hale County in west central Alabama…

* Until 400 PM CDT.

* At 329 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Newbern, or
near Greensboro, moving southwest at 10 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Newbern, Arcola, Greensboro Municipal Airport, Gallion, Cedarville
and Laneville.
