Flood Advisory Issued for Parts of Etowah County Until 12 am

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for…
Central Etowah County in northeastern Alabama…

* Until midnight CDT.

* At 900 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Gadsden, Rainbow City, Attalla, Glencoe, Steele, Altoona, Walnut
Grove, Reece City, Noccalula Falls, Gadsden Mall, Aurora, Neely
Henry Lake, Southside, Gadsden Municipal Airport, Ramsey,
Rockledge, Howelton, Big Wills Creek, Crudup and Northside.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
