The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a
* Flood Advisory for…
Clay County in east central Alabama…
* Until 600 PM CDT.
* At 247 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain
have fallen onto already wet ground. Areas of heavy rain are
expected to continue over the next hour, or so.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Lineville, Ashland, Barfield, Delta, Mellow Valley, Cragford,
Gunthertown, Lake Chinnabee and Motley.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
