CANCELED – Flood Advisory for Parts of Calhoun, Cleburne, & Talladega Counties Until 6:30pm

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flood Advisory for…
Southeastern Calhoun County in east central Alabama…
Southwestern Cleburne County in east central Alabama…
Northeastern Talladega County in east central Alabama…

* Until 630 PM CDT.

* At 319 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have
fallen onto already wet ground. Areas of heavy rain are expected
to continue over the next hour, or so.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Anniston, Oxford, Talladega, Heflin, Cobb Town, West End-Cobb
Town, Munford, Hobson City, Waldo, Mount Cheaha, Oxford Lake,
Anniston Regional Airport, Grant Town, Bynum, Dearmanville,
Jenifer, Camp Mac, Camp Sequoyah, Choccolocco and Chalafinnee.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
