Many thanks to JB who watched the blog for me so I could ride my bike and enjoy the wonderful outflow from the thunderstorms earlier.

At 6:45, the thunderstorms were mainly south of I-59. Very strong thunderstorms were over Sumter, Greene, Hale and Marengo Counties.

A strong storm was over northern Perry and southwestern Chilton Counties from near Maplesville to southeast of Marion.

The strongest storm in the state was along I-85 west of Tuskegee.

Moderate rain was over Calhoun and Cleburne Counties as well as eastern DeKalb County in East Alabama.

Some of the heaviest rainfall amounts were over DeKalb, Jackson and southern Madison County today. Radar estimates indicate that as much as five inches fell in the vicinity of Fort Payne. It will be intesting to see the official report.
