Strong Storms Affecting Parts of Autauga, Bibb, Chilton, Dallas, & Perry Counties

…SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR NORTHWESTERN AUTAUGA…SOUTHERN
CHILTON…NORTHEASTERN PERRY…SOUTHEASTERN BIBB AND NORTHEASTERN
DALLAS COUNTIES UNTIL 330 PM CDT…

At 239 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Talladega National Forest to 9 miles
northwest of Paul M Grist State Park. Movement was southeast at 25
mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include…
Clanton, Centreville, Thorsby, Maplesville, Billingsley, Vida
Junction, Parnell, Plecher, Lawley, Mulberry, Paul M Grist State
Park, Talladega National Forest, Chilton County Motor Sports Park,
Pooles Crossroads, Randolph, Lomax, Stanton, Six Mile, Bibb County
Airport and Valley Creek Junction.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
