One front down, one to go. Looks like we are going to get a very nice taste of Fall weather this week with 5 to 7 days of dry weather ahead of us.

Today the morning fog should burn off along with any low clouds. Plenty of sun should allow temperatures to climb into the lower 80s. Slightly drier air will continue to flow into the area with upstream dew points running in the 50s – those replacing our mid 60 dew points.

Monday the front should move through Alabama dry though a few clouds are possible. This will deliver some of the driest air we’ve seen in weeks with dew points expected to drop into the 40s.

The week remains dry for us as we head into October. A potent, negatively tilted trough comes out of the west on the first of October setting up a scenario that could produce severe weather across a large section of the Central US. The area of severe weather should be west and northwest of us, but we’ll still keep a watchful eye on this system.

Temperatures will remain cooler than we’ve seen for awhile with lows flirting with the upper 40s Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Highs should remain mainly in the 70s all week which will feel great along with the lower humidity.

Tropics are rather quiet as the remnants of TD 8 are still being watched a long way from land and with little sign of any regeneration.

Voodoo country shows possible rain for us around October 8th but drying out after that.

Don’t forget to listen to our weekly netcast anytime on the web or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. You can even listen here on the blog; look for the player on the top left.

Thanks for tuning into the Weather Xtreme Video. I had a great time at Jammin’ at the Junction last night at the Helena Amphitheater. Bo Bice and the other entertainers/bands put on a great show after the rain cooperated and departed the area. I hope you enjoy the upcoming week of dry weather and great temperatures. Godspeed.
