Southwest Pass reporting wind gusts to 90 mph.

Pilots Station East is now calm, where it was reporting 98 mph gusts in the eyewall earlier, a pretty clear indication that the wind equipment was damaged.

Winds are gusting to 53 mph at the Lakefront Airport in New Orleans, 41 mph at Louis Armstrong International. Belle Chasse is gusting to 51, Galliano to 48.

The strongest winds on the Mississippi Coast are 31 mph at Gulfport.

Landfall should occur within the hour near Port Fourchon or just west of Grand Isle. The Air Force Hurricane Hunters are racing east to get one more center fix before that happens.
