| October 21, 2021 @ 10:23 am

These will continue through the afternoon and into the evening hours. Late morning, radar update shows most of the activity is south of the Birmingham area across Central Alabama, while there are some scattered showers across East Alabama. We continue to see these occasional showers and storms at times the into the overnight hours

The SPC maintains maintains the low end, “marginal risk” (level 1/5) of severe thunderstorms for Northeast Alabama today.

A few storms there could produce small hail and gusty winds this afternoon and early tonight, but with limited instability and weak dynamic forcing, the overall threat is pretty low. Rain amounts should be under 1/2 inch through tonight.
