A few temperatures at 11 p.m.:

Birmingham 41F
Calera 41F
Tuscaloosa 42F
Anniston 39F
Gadsden 37F
Huntsville 41F
Cullman 36F
Decatur 37F

Temperatures will fall another 4-6 degrees across the area by sunrise. Freeze warnings are in effect for much oft e northern half of Alabama including Lamar, Fayette, Walker, Jefferson, Shelby, Coosa, Tallapoosa and Chambers Counties. Temperatures will fall to near freeze for a few hours overnight. Tender vegetation could be damaged or killed.

South of that, a Frost advisory is in effect for areas north of I-10 in South Alabama.

Widespread frost is expected across the area overnight.
