Tornado Watch Issued to Our West Until 6 pm This Evening

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Tornado Watch for portions of
— Eastern Arkansas
— Northeast Louisiana
— Central and northern Mississippi
— Southwest Tennessee

* Effective this Thursday morning and evening from 1050 AM until 600 PM CST.

• Primary threats include…
— A few tornadoes likely with a couple intense tornadoes possible
— Scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts to 75 mph possible

SUMMARY… Multiple linear bands with embedded supercells are expected to develop across the Lower Mississippi Valley and Mid-South regions. Greatest tornado threat should be centered on portions of northern to central Mississippi in the mid to late afternoon.
