An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player below. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

A CLEARING SKY: The clearing is progressing right on time across our state today… all of West and North Alabama is in sunshine now, with clouds still hanging over the eastern counties. Those clouds will go away this evening, and everybody will enjoy a bright sunny day tomorrow with a high in the low to mid 60s. Friday will be sunny as well with a high around 70.

THE WEEKEND: If you liked the weather last weekend, you will sure enjoy this weekend. Sunny mild days, clear cool nights. Highs up in the mid 70s, with morning lows in the 40s.

NEXT WEEK AND BEYOND: Showers will return to Alabama early next week; the 12Z GFS suggests the best chance of rain will come late Monday, Monday night, and into Tuesday morning. There could be some thunder involved, but severe weather doesn’t look likely now due to the lack of instability. Looks like a setup for about 1/2 to 1 inch. Drier air returns by Tuesday night and Wednesday.

Still some hint of a sharp change to colder weather in the November 23-25 time frame, but that is still out there in voodoo country and we have seen lots of variation in the placement and intensity of the upper trough. See the Weather Xtreme video for more ideas in the longer range.

STORM ALERT XTREME IS THIS SATURDAY: Want to be trained as a storm spotter? Want to join the ABC 33/40 Skywatcher team? Our annual training event, Storm Alert Xtreme, is coming up on Saturday November 14 at the BJCC during the annual Birmingham International Auto Show. You will be trained by the best SKYWARN trainer in the nation, our own Brian Peters (he has trained over 6,000 Alabama storm spotters over the years). We encourage all of our Skywatchers to attend this every year; you simply cannot get enough training. We will begin at 9:30, and be out by 3:30. And, everyone that attends Storm Alert Xtreme gets free admission to the Alabama International Auto Show. There is no admission charge, and no need to register. Just show up, but get there early for a good seat. We had a packed house last year.
