Freeze Warning Issued for a Good Chunk of Central Alabama Later Tonight

NWS Birmingham has issued a FREEZE WARNING that will go into effect tonight at 9 pm for the following counties in Central Alabama: Autauga, Bibb, Chambers, Chilton, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lowndes, Marengo, Perry, Pickens, Shelby, Sumter, Tallapoosa, and Tuscaloosa. The warning is currently set to expire at 9 am Sunday morning.

A Freeze Warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation. Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. Overnight lows in these locations are forecast to be around or below 30 degrees.
