Wind Advisory Expanded; Continues Until 6 pm This Evening

NWS Birmingham has expanded the WIND ADVISORY to include Autauga, Bibb, Blount, Chilton, Dallas, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lowndes, Marengo, Perry, Pickens, Shelby, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, and Walker counties, and continues the advisory for Fayette, Lamar, Marion, and Winston counties. It is set to expire at 6 pm this evening.

…WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS EVENING…

* WHAT…South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* WHERE…Portions of west central Alabama.

* WHEN…Through 6 PM CST this evening.

* IMPACTS…Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects.
Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may
result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high
profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
