Saturday Weather Briefing — A Wet & Cool Saturday, But Much Better Weather on Easter

| April 8, 2023 @ 6:54 am

Radar at 6:28 am CDT.

We’re starting off your Saturday with rain across much of the area, and that will continue to be the story throughout the daylight hours. The rain will eventually move out of the area tonight. It will also be a cool day, as highs will only make it into the mid 50s to the lower 60s.

Easter Sunday will be a brighter and warmer day across Central Alabama. Clouds will be decreasing throughout the day, and highs will reach the mid 60s to the lower 70s.

High pressure will be located just off the east coast on Monday, and we’ll have an easterly flow across the area. We’ll have mostly sunny skies, with highs in the upper 60s to the lower 70s.

On Tuesday, the high will actually move a little to the south, and we’ll continue to feel the effects of “the wedge.” Skies will be sunny with highs in the lower 70s.

And the same story on Wednesday as the high moves just a little farther to the south off of the South Carolina coast. However, we see a low developing off to our southwest that will eventually make it up into the area later on. We’ll have sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 70s.

On Thursday, that low will start to move northeastward and bring rain chances to the area. Those rain chances will be higher for the southern half of the area. Otherwise, skies will be partly to mostly sunny, with highs in the lower to mid 70s.

And at the end of the forecast period on Friday, the low weakens a little, but it will continue to keep moisture across Central Alabama to end the work week. It will be warmer and more humid, with a decent chance of showers at anytime across the area. Highs in the mid to upper 70s.
