A Look at the Alabama Weather Situation at 3:30 a.m.

The North Central Alabama storms are exiting into Georgia at this hour. Only light to moderate rain now covers the northern half of the area.

The strongest storms are moving across West Central Alabama now from Linden to Pennington to Gilbertown.

Severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect for parts of Marengo, Choctaw, and northern Clarke Counties.

A large mass of modeate rain covers much of the area from southwest of Birmingham to the Florida border.

A tornado watch remains in effect until 8 a.m. CDT, but the tornado threat across Alabama is decreasing. The NWS Birmingham says that they are going to clear Sumter, Greene, and Hale from the Tornado Watch shortly. The last section will be Marengo, Perry, and Dallas.
