Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Parts of Colbert & Franklin Co. Until 8pm

The National Weather Service in Huntsville, Alabama, has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 8:00 PM CDT. This warning covers southwestern Colbert County and northwestern Franklin County.

As of 7:28 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles northeast of Red Bay, moving northeast at a swift 55 mph. The storm brings with it the potential for 60-65 mph wind gusts and nickel-sized hail, as indicated by radar.

Residents in the affected areas, including Tuscumbia, Cherokee, Posey Loop, and others, should brace for possible damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
