Storms Intensifying in Central Mississippi

| April 2, 2024 @ 2:41 pm

Storms over Central Mississippi are slowly increasing in intensity and have sufficient instability and bulk shear for them to become severe.

A severe weather watch may be issued this afternoon for Central and southern Mississippi.

These storms will push into Northwest Alabama around 4 or 4:30 p.m. and will affect mainly the Tennessee Valley through this evening.

Additional storms are expected to form over Central Alabama early this evening. These storms may be tapping an unperturbed warm sector meaning they will have access to richer instability as the cap weakens and breaks tonight.

Damaging winds, hail, and tornadoes are all possible across North and Central Alabama through this evening.
