Prepare for Wake Low and Strong Winds Across Central Alabama

A wake low is forming over Central Mississippi this afternoon. The pressure at Greenwood MS fell 9 millibars in one hour!!! Pressure was falling rapidly. Winds just gusted to 51 mph there.

Winds just gusted to 41 mph at Meridian. The Naval Air Station there reported a peak gust of 31 mph recently.

These strong winds will push across Central Alabama behind the main rain area this afternoon and evening. Winds will gust to 40-50 mph. Trees will be knocked down and power will be interrupted in some areas.
