Strong Storm Develops over SW Jefferson County

| May 9, 2024 @ 4:49 pm

A strong thunderstorm has developed in the past few minutes over southwestern Jefferson County in the Hoover area.

Lots of lightning and very close to being severe. Tons of instability and plenty of bulk shear, so it could go severe. No chance of a tornado though.

Very heavy rain all along I-459 from McCalla to the Galleria.

The storm is moving southeast into northern Shelby County. Areas from Indian Springs down to Helena will be affected.
