EXPIRED Tornado Warning — Parts of DeKalb, Madison, Marshall Co. Until 3:45 am

The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a Tornado Warning for Northeastern Marshall County in northeastern Alabama, Southeastern Madison County in north central Alabama, and West central DeKalb County in northeastern Alabama. This warning is in effect until 3:45 AM CDT.

At 3:20 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Grant, or 10 miles north of Guntersville, moving southeast at 40 mph. The hazard includes a tornado. Radar indicated rotation and the impact of this storm includes flying debris that will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed, and damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.

This dangerous storm is expected to be near Guntersville and Grant around 3:25 AM CDT. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include McVille, Lakeview, Hopewell, Hustleville, Painter, Whiton, Chigger Hill, Columbus City, and Lake Guntersville St Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS:
Take cover now! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.
Avoid windows and if you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter.
Protect yourself from flying debris.
