EXPIRED Severe T-Storm Warning — Parts of Cullman, Marshall, Dekalb Co. Until 4:45 am

The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Central Marshall County, DeKalb County, and Cullman County in northeastern and north central Alabama. This warning is in effect until 4:45 AM CDT.

At 4:11 AM CDT, a line of severe thunderstorms was extending from 10 miles northwest of Summerville to near Snead to near Cullman, moving east at 60 mph. Emergency management has reported multiple trees down, power outages, and small hail associated with these storms. The hazard includes 60 mph wind gusts and penny-size hail, with the source being emergency management reports. The impact of these storms is expected to cause damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted by these severe thunderstorms include Albertville, Cullman, Fort Payne, Boaz, Guntersville, Arab, Rainsville, Hanceville, Henagar, and Good Hope.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS:
Remain alert for a possible tornado as tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms.
If you spot a tornado, go at once into the basement or a small central room in a sturdy structure.
Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building for your protection.
Avoid driving through flooded roadways as torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms and may lead to flash flooding.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 8:00 AM CDT for north central and northeastern Alabama.
