Severe T-Storm Warning — Parts of Bibb, Chilton, Jefferson, Shelby, Tuscaloosa Co. Until 6 am

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for several counties in central Alabama. Here are the details:

North central Chilton County in central Alabama
Southeastern Tuscaloosa County in west central Alabama
Western Shelby County in central Alabama
Bibb County in central Alabama
South central Jefferson County in central Alabama

Duration: The warning is in effect until 6:00 AM CDT.

Current Situation: At 5:19 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near West Blocton, approximately 10 miles north of Centreville. The storm is moving east at a speed of 50 mph.

Hazard: The main hazard associated with this severe thunderstorm is 60 mph wind gusts.
