Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued Until 9 am for Portions on Central Alabama

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect until 9:00 AM CDT for 20 counties in Central Alabama. These counties include Bibb, Calhoun, Chambers, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Marengo, Perry, Pickens, Randolph, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, Talladega, Tallapoosa, and Tuscaloosa.

Cities within this watch area include Alabaster, Alexander City, Aliceville, Anniston, Ashland, Birmingham, Brent, Carrollton, Centreville, Clanton, Columbiana, Demopolis, Eutaw, Greensboro, Heflin, Hoover, Jacksonville, Lanett, Linden, Lineville, Livingston, Marion, Moody, Moundville, Pelham, Pell City, Roanoke, Rockford, Sylacauga, Talladega, Tuscaloosa, Uniontown, Valley, and York.

Additionally, a Tornado Watch (Watch 330) remains valid until 8:00 AM CDT for 8 counties in Central Alabama. These counties include Blount, Cherokee, Etowah, Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Walker, and Winston. Cities within this watch area include Centre, Fayette, Gadsden, Haleyville, Hamilton, Jasper, Oneonta, Sulligent, and Vernon.
