(Cancelled as of 325pm CDT) Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of Marion and Lamar Counties until 345pm CDT

Update as of 325pm – The warning has been cancelled.  The storm has dropped below severe limits.

The western storm has intensified and we now have a severe thunderstorm warning for Central Marion and Northeastern Lamar Counties.  This storm near Hamilton is barely moving to the west.  Please be careful as we have the potential for 60 mph winds, small heavy, very heavy rain in a short amount of time and frequent lightning.  This storm will impact Hamilton, Guin and north of Winfield.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Central Marion County in northwestern Alabama…
Northeastern Lamar County in west central Alabama…

* Until 345 PM CDT.

* At 306 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Hamilton,
moving west at 5 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Hamilton, Guin, Weston, Twin, Henson Springs, Marion County Public
Lake, Pearces Mill, Rankin Fite Airport, and Pikeville.
