NOAA Plane Finds Lower Pressure, Air Force Confirms

The NOAA Hurricane Hunter plane just came in through the northwest quadrant and found an increasing wind field in that quadrant. Max flight level winds inbound were 67 knots. 70 knot surface winds were observed on the SFMR. They found an extrapolated surface pressure of 977.3 mb.

The Air Force Hurricane Hunters just finished another penetration found 978 millibars. The max flight level winds were 65 mph.

Another round of deeper convection is developing around the central dense overcast. There is lightning in the developing feeder band just north of the core convection.
