An Angry Gulf at Alligator Point in Far Southern Franklin County, Florida

| September 26, 2024 @ 12:54 pm

Alligator Point is at the southern end of Franklin County, Florida, south of Ochlockonee Bay and the Ocklockonee River. It is a beautiful place, but today it is a haunting scene with waves piling against the rocks along Alligator Drive.

Winds here are averaging 20 mph with occasional higher gusts. We were mainly dry for awhile but rain is beginning to build back over us.
