A (small) Inquiring Mind needs to Know?

| March 3, 2010 @ 8:41 am | 32 Replies

I once heard that people with small minds ask more questions. I doubt that very much but I am always loaded with unusual questions. I want to repeat a question that I posted here 8 or 10 years ago. Since that time, our readership has expanded 10-fold. I will have another even more difficult question later this week. (I only do this in quiet weather times) Here we go:

Q. What if we hauled 500 zillion 36-wheeler truck loads of dirt and rock and completely filled our dear friend, The Gulf of Mexico, replacing all the water? Then, we would walk out into the middle of the “ex-Gulf” and plant one twig of kudzu. We would have to run for our life o beat the kudzu to shore. Within 24 hours, the ex-gulf would be a solid canopy of green. Now, I would like your answer to these questions. How would the climate change for these locations:

* Gulf Shores
* Birmingham
* The Big Apple (sometimes known as New York City)

Thanks in advance for your opinions. We have a lot of readers with an IQ 500 or greater!
