Road Conditions Update: Main Roads Drying Out, Some Slick Spots Likely On Side Roads Tonight

| January 11, 2025 @ 1:07 pm

Per recent ground reports, it appears that most main roads and highways are drying out nicely thanks to ample sunshine in many areas. This will help mitigate any refreezing tonight. However, we do want to mention that there are some side roads that still have some slush on them, or are at least wet. With temperatures dropping into the teens and low 20 tonight, any wet surface will freeze. So patches of black ice on secondary roads, bridges, and overpasses cannot be ruled out. The highest probability of this occurring is over the northern 1/3rd of the state where some snow remains on the ground.

If you are traveling tonight, please continue to exercise caution and take your time.
