Severe Weather Update: PDS Watch Issued to the West of AL; Several Active Warnings Across Missouri and The Mid-South
Active weather across the central and eastern United States is now underway with several storms beginning to pop up. This has led to the issuance of a PDS (particularly dangerous situation) Tornado Watch being issued for parts of the following states: Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi and Tennessee. Here is a graphic showing this watch:
This watch does not cover any portions of Alabama. While the bulk of the severe weather is expected to remain in the Mississippi River Valley region, an isolated supercell or two in Northwestern Alabama cannot be ruled out. The atmosphere is very ripe, meaning that any storm that forms has the potential to turn severe. Please stay aware of the weather today and have multiple ways to receive alerts, especially if you are in Northwest Alabama.
