Tornado Warning for Northeastern Marshall, Southern Jackson, and Central DeKalb Counties Until 9:30 PM CDT
A confirmed tornado is moving through parts of northeastern Alabama. At 8:41 PM CDT, the tornado was located over Section, near Scottsboro, and is moving east at 35 miles per hour.
This tornado is producing dangerous conditions including flying debris and hail up to half dollar size. Mobile homes may be destroyed, and damage to roofs, windows, vehicles, and trees is likely.
The tornado is expected to affect Scottsboro, Powell, and Section around 8:45 PM, Sylvania and Rainsville around 8:50 PM, Henagar around 9:00 PM, and Fort Payne around 9:10 PM. Other communities in the path include Dutton, Langston, Mentone, Desoto State Park, Valley Head, Hammondville, Lim Rock, and Pine Ridge.
If you are in this warning area, take cover immediately. Go to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and stay away from windows. If you are outside, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, get to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
