Tornado Warning for Marshall County, Southwestern DeKalb County, and Northeastern Cullman County Until 9:45 PM CDT
A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado is moving through northeastern Alabama. At 8:52 PM CDT, the storm was located over Arab, traveling east at 50 miles per hour.
This storm poses a serious threat with the potential for flying debris that can be dangerous to anyone caught without shelter. Mobile homes may be damaged or destroyed, and roofs, windows, vehicles, and trees could sustain damage.
The tornado is expected to be near Guntersville around 9:00 PM, Albertville around 9:05 PM, and Crossville and Geraldine around 9:20 PM. Other areas in the path include McVille, High Point, Lakeview, Hopewell, Guest, Columbus City, Skirum, Lake Guntersville State Park, Lebanon, and Eddy.
If you are in this warning area, take cover immediately. Go to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building, avoiding windows. If you are outside, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, get to the nearest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
