Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Central Lowndes County Until 4:00 PM CDT

At 3:14 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Benton, about 9 miles northwest of Mosses, moving east at 15 miles per hour. This storm is producing wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter size hail.

Hail could damage vehicles, and strong winds may cause damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Areas in the path of this storm include Mosses, Hayneville, White Hall, Gordonville, Lowndesboro, Benton, and Manack.

If you’re in the warned area, seek shelter now in an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy structure.

This storm is also producing frequent lightning. If you can hear thunder, you’re close enough to be struck. Get indoors right away.
