Showers and Storms Advancing East

| March 28, 2010 @ 7:56 am | Reply

The main line of showers and storms is over West Alabama this morning. It extends from Madison to Addison to Carbon Hill to Aliceville.

The strongest storm was east of Carbon Hill. It is moving up toward Manchester and Curry and Smith Lake. It probably has small hail to the size of marbles, and is not far from developing some large hail.

The other band of storms extends from Ashville in St. Clair County down to Leeds. Nothing severe here, but some lightning is evident. This activity will move up along the Coosa River toward Hokes Bluff and Centre.

There is still a chance that storms will become severe this morning and especially this afternoon. The biggest threat is after noon in areas east of I-65.
